A Big Thank You!

We at City Arts Nashua want to thank everyone involved in the 4th Annual Meri Goyette Arts Award Champagne luncheon – the sponsors, advertisers, entertainers, generous donors of both silent and live auction items, the many volunteers and all who attended for celebrating Nashua’s vibrant arts community with us and the Nashua Arts Commission.

Congratulations to John Weidman, co-founder and director of the Nashua International Sculpture Symposium, Eric Brand of P & L Landscaping, and Saint Joseph Hospital – all honored for their support of the arts at the event.

Your Support is Needed

City Arts Nashua is the fiscal sponsor for the Holman Stadium Art Banner project. Nashua’s Historic Holman Stadium was home to the first integrated baseball team in the US when pitcher Don Newcombe and catcher Roy Campanella were members of the 1942 Nashua Dodgers, the minor league team for the Brooklyn Dodgers.

This community project will hire an artist to create portraits of both players that will be made into 8x12 foot banners that will be displayed on either side of the entrance to Holman Stadium. With a significant grant from the Burbank Fund and donations for generous donors, the project needs $900 to reach the budget goal. Any size donation will help make this community art project a reality. You can send a check to City Arts Nashua, PO Box 1603, Nashua 03061 or donate Online.

Call To Artists - Holman Stadium Art Banner Project

The Holman Stadium Art Banner Project Committee, a community project organized by Nashua Silver Knights with the assistance of City Arts Nashua as the fiscal agent, is seeking to engage an artist, or a team of two artists that will work together, to create two works of art in compatible styles that will be converted into 8 x 12 foot banners displayed on the stanchions of Holman Stadium on either side of the box office.

Deadline Extended - to April 10th.
