ArtWalk Weekend 2014
10th Anniversary

OCTOBER 17 - 18 - 19

OVERVIEW

SAVE THE DATES -
YOU’LL WANT TO BE AT ARTWALK WEEKEND 2014

Now is the time to reserve the weekend of October 17 - 18 - 19.  You will want to be in downtown Nashua that weekend and nowhere else.

It is the 10th Anniversary of ArtWalk, and we are celebrating the arts in style.

The weekend starts on Friday with the second annual ArtWalk Fancy Friday Fundraiser, a Nashua tradition where you can dress up, go out, and get down, with special offers at participating restaurants and bars. The $10 price of a wrist band goes to the charity of the night – in this case, to support the programs, projects and publicity for arts organizations by City Arts Nashua.

Saturday kicks off with the city’s Fall Festival Parade from City Hall to Historic Holman Stadium, where the city has lots of fun planned for children and their parents. Artist studios and venues will open at 11 am, directly after the parade. An “ArtWalk Trolley” will run on Main Street from Holman Stadium to Prospect Street to help all our visitors move between ArtWalk venues and the events at Holman.

A formal ArtWalk opening ceremony is planned for 12 Noon at the 30 Temple Street Plaza, headquarters for ArtWalk.  City Arts Nashua will have an information table at that location with plenty of extra program/maps.

Over 100 local and area artists will be exhibiting and selling their work on both Saturday and Sunday at 30 Temple Street, the Picker Building and 22 venues downtown. Fine art, crafts, quilts, jewelry, underwater photography, 3-D art and so much more. The list of Artists shows where they will be located, and what they have to offer. We urge you to shop local this year for all your holiday gifts.

Downtown will be filled with music during both days of ArtWalk with over a dozen groups and individuals performing non-stop. And there’s plenty to do in between shopping for your holiday gifts – demonstrations, art classes, a live art chalk board where you can express your inner artist, painting without brushes for children, poetry reading, author book signings – check out our Entertainment/Events list.

With so much to do, make sure you plan either lunch or dinner, or both in one of downtown Nashua’s many fine restaurants. We encourage you enjoy a meal at an ArtWalk Food Stop, the restaurants supporting our event.

The ArtWalk Program/Map will be available at 30 Temple Street, the Nashua Public Library, the Picker Building, and participating downtown venues and restaurants. Be sure to pick one up so you can plan your weekend in advance.

We want to thank our wonderful sponsors for helping make the 10th Anniversary ArtWalk a weekend you won’t want to miss:  our presenting sponsor, R.J. Finlay/30 Temple Street, our media sponsor, the Nashua Telegraph,  and our supporting sponsors, BAE Systems, the Nashua Arts Commission, the Nashua Chamber of Commerce, and Great American Downtown.
